Ilami Whyte is a Nigerian movie actress and reality television star with an admirable ambition - to conquer Nollywood, and from there, the rest of the world.

The Abua, Rivers State indigene drew the industry spotlight at a young age by winning the 2010 Edition of Next Movie Star Africa competition – a remarkable feat which she achieved through her undeniable talent, combined with an amazing personality, astonishing beauty and laudable work ethic.

Ilami Whyte stands out as an actress of distinction hewn in professionalism, a trait that earned her a reputation as one to look out for in Nollywood, and also has positioned her as the future of Nigerian film.Loved and praised by her industry peers and elders alike,this reservoir of talent is drawn to honest and transparent people, hard work and has a high penchant for success.

While acting may be her first love, the business-minded actress who holds an English/Linguistics degree from University of Jos has other projects in the wings. She is currently working on her television talk show, as well as her foundation currently in its infancy stage. Ilami confesses that her family is of the utmost importance in her life, and attributes her focus in plotting her career to closely following the careers of other stars of film before her. According to her, “I don't have role models, just people I look up to such as Oprah, Angelina Jolie, Joke Silva, Bimbo Akintola to mention a few”.

Exuding piles of confidence, Ilami has plans to work with industry A-listers such as Joke Silva, Bimbo Akintola, RMD, Uche Jombo, among others. Citing her unwavering trust in God’s plans for her life, the energetic actress believes that she has a huge contribution to make to the Nigerian film industry, and is morethan willing to put in the best of her capabilities to ensure a furtherance of the principles upholding Nollywood.

She is of the belief that Nollywood gets better every day, and affirms her patriotism for her country with a single powerful statement: “I am proud to be Nigerian because I am Nigerian” The energetic actress has starred in a couple of movie projectswhich are soon to premiere such as: Stripped(in which she co-stars with Beverly Naya,Ramsey Noah, and Joseph Benjamin etc.), Job Seekers (starring Ayo Adesanya, Kiera, Moyo Lawal etc), Next Door, with the most recent being Nigerian Girl, While she is a lover of constructive reading, hanging out with friends and spending quality time at the gym.
